Dear Families,
This is our last full week of online instruction, all assignments are due to teachers by this FRIDAY, May 22. We will observe the Memorial Day holiday next Monday and teachers will be finalizing student grades next week on Tuesday and Wednesday. Here are some important updates:
Food Distribution
Food distribution will continue this week on Monday from 11:00 to 1:00 either on the campus or through our bus route distribution. The routes are the same as they were in April. Click here for the list of stops and times. Please note that next week, we will be doing our distribution on Tuesday, May 26th in observance of the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 25th.
Quarter 4 Grades
All assignments are due to teachers by this FRIDAY, May 22nd. A grade placement committee consisting of your student’s teachers and supporting instructional staff will determine final grades for the year and your student’s grade placement for next fall. An administrator will be reaching out to you separately if your student is at risk for being retained in their current grade or placed in the next grade due to their performance throughout the year.
Summer Reading
Although formal instruction will be complete this week, your child has the opportunity to continue reading online using Epic!. If you haven’t accessed this site yet, it is a wealth of amazing books to read and lessons to explore. Your student’s reading teacher will help you set up their account, and they will be able to access books to read through June 30, 2020. Ms. Lapid will be checking to see who’s reading and entering students into weekly drawings for pizza coupons! Be sure to keep reading on Epic! through June 30 to win some FREE pizza!
Fall Calendar/Schedule
We are continuing to evaluate our plans for next fall and watching closely to see what other districts will be putting in place to address the ongoing health concerns during this crisis. We will let you know as soon as those plans are finalized. In the meantime, be on the lookout for important updates regarding enrollment and our calendar.
Thank you for continuing to partner with us as we near the end of the school year. We are grateful for each one of our families, and we look forward to the day we can all be back together again in-person to continue our work at Yellowstone. Have a great week Lions!
Sincerely,
Candice Lapid (clapid@yellowstoneschools.org)
